Vanaf mid oktober kiezen onze gasten in Ramada Plaza Antwerp zélf de kwaliteit van de kussens op hun bed.
Voortaan worden de bedden opgemaakt met 4 nieuwe, synthetische kussens: 2 stevige en 2 zachte. Comfort te over dus, maar … op het menu staan ook kussens met dons en veren, eveneens met een keuze tussen stevig of zacht, die wij op simpel verzoek naar de kamer brengen.
We voorzien zelfs anti-allergische kussenslopen voor onze hotelgasten die dat wensen.
On Friday the 2nd of September the Ramada Plaza held a cocktail contest. Our fantastic mixologists Kristof Zierfuss, Christophe Van Cauter, Casper Croese, Mo Arbaoui made their preferred cocktails.

It was a tough decision but after much deliberation the best cocktail was elected to become “Cocktail of the Month” in our Gozo bar. The cocktails they made were Pina Colada, Drive safe, Carparosa Cocktail, Sidecar, The Fifth, Long Island Ice Tea and Toronto.

I tested myself this weekend: perfect, easy to do and ideal for exploring Antwerp.
Antwerp’s Velo bikes are a fantastic way to travel around the city centre and using it is as easy as riding a bike!
There are currently 85 Velo stations located around the city centre between the Singel and the Schelde. Stations are always 400 metres or less away, so wherever you want to get to there is a station to pick-up or drop-off nearby including near busy bus and tram stops, visitor attractions and main road intersections.
Buying a Velo Pass
Rentals under 30 minutes are free! You need to register online at Velo Antwerpen and have the option to choose passes for a day, week or year. If you choose the day (currently €3) or weekly (€7) options you’ll receive a code and password. To pick up your bike go to the nearest Velo station, type in your details and a bike will be unlocked. When you’re finished ride drop it off at another station (you’ll hear a beep and the bicycle will be locked back in its stand)! If you return the bike within 30 minutes you won’t be charged, for longer rentals the charge will be applied to your credit card immediately.
Velo: Perfect for the city
The bikes were especially designed for intensive use in the city, for young and old, for men and women. Thanks to its ergonomic design and the easy adaptable seats you can sit up straight, regardless your height. Furthermore the bikes have three gears, anti-skid pedals and thick tires to avoid you getting stuck in the tram rails. The small front wheel makes it easier to steer. In the handy luggage rack above the steering wheel you can easily transport large and small bags.
Where do you find the Velo stations?
The 85 Velo stations are situated in the area between the Singel and the Schelde at most 400m apart. The closest Velo station to the Ramada Plaza Antwerp Hotel is Wezenberg at the junction of Desguinlei and Karel Oomsstraat – just 300m from our front door.

Belgium’s largest culinary festival is back again this year! The Taste Festival returns to Antwerp for its fifth summer In August and this year looks set to be the best so far.
For four days in August foodies will descend on Antwerp’s Zuid neighbourhood (by the docks) to sample culinary creations from renowned local chefs and sample tasty delights. Like many Belgian cities, Antwerp has a strong tradition of supporting local producers and local specialities, but there will also be an amazing array of international cuisines available from Italy, Japan, USA, Greece., Spain… and the list goes on and on. A wonderful opportunity to discover new favourites or rediscover forgotten passions. Last year many guests of the Ramada Plaza Hotel Antwerp attended and they all gave it great reviews.
